Let’s Shine a Light on Excellence: Nominate a Standout in Our Industry
Each year, we have the privilege of celebrating the remarkable individuals and companies who elevate the Canadian moving industry—those who embody the values of leadership, innovation, and service, and who make a lasting difference both within our profession and in the communities we serve.
These are the folks who drive our industry and go above and beyond, setting benchmarks for professionalism and integrity, and bringing their best games to the job. And they are the folks who do good things in their communities to make them stronger and better as well.

|
|
Every day we educate consumers on how to pick credible, professional movers. The winners of the CAM awards are excellent examples of this and, we hope, an inspiration to others.
Do you know someone whose dedication, creativity, or commitment deserves to be recognized? Whether it’s a visionary leader, a behind-the-scenes hero, a rising young professional, or a company that consistently delivers excellence, now is the time to share their story with us.
Your nomination not only honours their achievements but also helps set the standard for our entire industry.
Let’s make sure the exceptional efforts within our industry don’t go unnoticed.
Take a moment to recognize someone who truly makes a difference. Your nomination could be the reason their story is celebrated at our annual awards dinner—a highlight of the CAM calendar.
There’s only a short time frame in which to get your nomination in – only six weeks – so make haste!

CAM Award Nominations Now Open! |
|
|
For 25 years CAM has been recognizing excellence in the moving industry. Whether it’s a long-time high-profile employee, someone behind the scenes who has dedicated their work-life to the betterment of the industry, or a moving company that has gone beyond the call of duty to help their community, our Association wants to acknowledge people who should be recognized for their work to improve the moving industry. |
|
|
There are several categories of awards. Our Awards Committee reviews all nominations and selects the deserving recipients each year. Please note that not every category is automatically awarded each year.
• Mover of the Year recognizing a prominent CAM mover member who demonstrates outstanding corporate citizenship and customer service excellence. The mover can either be an agent of a van line or an independent. • Distinguished Service honouring a prominent member of the profession with a long, exceptional history of contributions to the moving industry and to CAM. • Industry Leadership recognizes an individual who demonstrates leadership and serves as an inspiration to others. • Influencer celebrating a promising young professional (under the age of 40) in the moving industry who embodies a commitment to business growth, professional excellence, and the future of the industry and community. • Public Service honouring an individual, group or organization who has performed a significant act or acts of moving-related service in the public interest.
Deadline for 2025 nominations is August 31, 2025.
Awards are going to be handed out at our annual banquet on Tuesday, November 18th at the Holiday Inn Kingston Waterfront Hotel in Kingston, Ontario. Everyone welcome!

Use of CAM Brand
The CAM office has received several questions and concerns from our membership and consumers regarding the use of our trademarked CAM and ACD logos.
Feedback is invaluable to us, and it highlights our shared commitment to maintaining the integrity and reputation of the Canadian Association of Movers/Association canadienne des déménageurs.
To ensure clarity and consistency—and to best serve our members and the public—the Board of Directors has recently reviewed and clarified the rules around the usage of the CAM and ACD logos. The graphic below outlines updated guidelines for how and when our logos can be used, with the goal of protecting our collective brand while supporting your efforts to promote your membership.
We encourage you to do two things:
1. Review these rules and reach out to the CAM administration with any questions or for further guidance.
2. Verify your CAM membership and member details by browsing your listing (and your branch’s listing/s) by location through our Find A Professional Mover function or by name in our Member Directory. Let us know if you do not find your listing or your branch’s listing. Only active CAM members and their branches whose membership fee payments are up to date are authorized to use and or display CAM’s brand.
Companies found to be displaying CAM’s brand without authorization or membership will be asked to remove those unauthorized logos or references to CAM.
Thank you for your ongoing partnership and dedication to upholding the highest standards in our industry. |

Calgary’s Best Moves Inc. Joins CAM |
|
|
Founded in Calgary, Best Moves started with one truck, two movers, and a commitment to doing things right. “We've grown steadily into one of Alberta and British Columbia’s most trusted moving companies, handling everything from local apartment relocations to complex long-distance moves across provinces,” says owner Max Pylypenko. |
|
|
“What sets us apart is our people-first approach - not just with clients, but with our team. By creating a supportive, respectful work environment, we help our movers stay motivated, professional, and proud of the service they deliver. We’re also big believers in community. Whether it’s through fair treatment, consistent service, or simply showing up with care, we try to leave every customer, and every neighbourhood, a little better off than when we arrived. We believe the moving industry deserves a strong reputation, and like many others, we’re working hard to uphold that standard every day.”
Becoming a member of CAM is an exciting step for Best Moves. “We look forward to connecting with, supporting, and learning from others in the network. We are glad to be here!”

How Virtual Estimates are Redefining the Moving Process |
|
|
James Hatfield, Chief Revenue Officer at CAM Supplier LiveSwitch penned this unpublished article exploring how virtual estimates are driving innovation and increasing efficiency in the industry. It’s hard to believe that in five short years, before virtual estimates became mainstream, moving companies relied almost exclusively on in-home visits. It just goes to show how dynamic and essential technology has become in our industry.
It’s a quick read—why not check it out?

U.S. Department of Defense Cancels Global Household Goods Contract Federal News Network, June 18, 2025
On June 18, 2025, the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) announced that it was canceling the Global Household Goods Contract (GHC) for cause saying that HomeSafe Alliance had demonstrated an "inability to fulfill their obligations."
The GHC was a major initiative by the DOD to overhaul and modernize the process of moving household goods for military and Coast Guard personnel and their families. The contract aimed to address long-standing issues and cumbersome claims processes by appointing a single move manager—HomeSafe Alliance—to coordinate all aspects of the relocation, including packing, shipping, storage, and delivery, using a network of commercial moving companies.
The GHC was valued at up to $17.9 billion (USD) over nine years and intended to improve service quality through enhanced communication, digital management systems, and simplified claims. Although the contract was awarded in November 2021, legal challenges and process delays postponed its implementation, with the initial phase-in beginning in April 2024.
Each year, the U.S. military and Coast Guard oversee the relocation of approximately 300,000 to 400,000 military families, including both domestic and international moves. |

Quebec’s Écocamionnage program returns with increased $415-million budget Trucknews.ca, June 23, 2025
The unveiling of Quebec’s 2025-2030 Green Economy Implementation Plan in mid June confirmed that the Écocamionnage program has been relaunched with a budget of $415 million over five years.

Truckers Against Trafficking
Established in 2009, Truckers Against Trafficking (TAT) started with a simple yet powerful belief: that every truck driver can be a crucial ally in the fight against human trafficking.
Since then, TAT has grown to encompass a greater portion of the transportation industry, and raised awareness about trafficking, who it targets and its signs, and equipped individuals to take action whenever their lives intersect with it and its victims.
There are four main scenarios in which moving companies may be exposed to human trafficking. One red flag on its own may not mean anything, but if you are noticing multiple red flags or other parts of the story don’t add up, please make an immediate and anonymous call to the National Human Trafficking Hotline at 1-833-900-1010 (CAN) or 1-888-3737-888 (US). If you are witnessing a crime in progress, please call 911.
TAT recognize that movers are not social workers, nor are they asking you to be. But if things don’t add up and multiple red flag indicators are present, please take a second look and be willing to make a call.
Join TAT as they work to dismantle trafficking networks and bring perpetrators to justice.
Read about the red flags here.
